I woke up to a cold dreary rainy day in Adelaide this morning and was lounging around the house all sad faced when the postman turned up with my package from Makeup Academy.  I'm sure I only placed this order last week and as they had a huge 50% off sale I thought I'd have to wait for ages so was not expecting it at all.  I did go a little crazy and buy things that weren't entirely necessary but hey, it was half price and free shipping and their products are cheap anyway... why do I always feel the need to justify my purchases ha!

Aaaanyways here's what I got:

2x Palettes in Poptastic & Undressed.
Apparently Undressed is a dupe for the Urban Decay palette but I can't compare.  I didn't actually mean to buy it but it somehow ended up in my cart (yeah right).  Poptastic is very bright and very pigmented but I'm excited about using it.  My only gripe is their are three teal colours that are very similar.  They normally sell for £4 but were half price at £2 which comes in at approximately $3AUD.  Yeah now you're listening.  I got an artistic palette in my last order from MUA (read about it here) and I'm very impressed with the pigmentation and staying power of the eyeshadows and blushers.

I also got this trio eyeshadow in 'Innocence'.  Lovely shimmery shades that considering the above palette I really didn't need at all but the colours are different so not a complete waste.

2x Intense Colour Eyeliner Pencils in Jet Black & Torquise
Mascara - Mega Volume in Black

Kiss Proof Lip Stain in Fabulicious
Lip Boom in OMG - This is a lipstick on one end and sparkly lipgloss on the other in a sweet coral shade.

Brush on Concealer Pen in Radiance - I'll try anything that might replace my (hexy) YSL Radiant Touch
Mosaic Blusher in English Rose
Matte Perfect Loose Translucent Powder

Eyedusts - I was so impressed with the first 2 eyedusts I got in my first haul that I had to get the rest of the colours.  Unfortunately their colour selection is small (5) and I'm not highly impressed with the actual colours but they're still good.  The first swatch is Shade 6 and an aubergine colour, middle is Shade 4 and is Khaki (yuk) and the last is Shade 5, a cool deep brown (love).  As you can see in the picture once you unscrew the lid the loose dust comes out of an open hole.  This is not very user friendly at all and I've been tapping product out onto something else to dip my brush in but this get's messy and uses more product than you would if you could just dip your brush in. I may repot these into something else in the near future.

Lipbalms in Hot Lips, Kiss Me and Great Lips.  I have one of these on right now and I can not rave enough about these lip balms.  Cute packaging.  Delicious Smell.  Hint of colour. Long lasting.  Hydrating.  Just like the eye dusts I HAD to have every colour so I bought the rest to complete my collection.

Pro-Base Makeup Fixing Mist - Never used a product like this and am sceptical but will see how it goes
Pro-Base Complexion Kit - Ivory.  This contains a cream to powder foundation, cream concealer, cream highlighter and 2 applicators.  Can't wait to try it out.

This was a pretty large haul but with the 50% off and free international shipping I spent a total of around $37AUD.  I can't think of anywhere you can spend $37 and get this much makeup!!! Even though I didn't spend much overall I think I may need to impose a spending ban so I actually start using all of the things I've bought this month. It would help a lot if there wern't so many sales!

Happy last day of the month girlies - Thank God it's Friday tomorrow :)

Fiiiiiiiinally my Lust have it box arrived!! I always thought that it took so bloody long to get to me because I lived in Darwin (and nothing happens on time in Darwin) but I'm in Adelaide now and it still took ages which is weird because every other parcel I've got so far has arrived in a small number of days.  Anyways rant over let's talk about what's in this months box...

First off they've got rid of the colourful bags they used to come in which I'm quite happy about as I have waaay too many.  The new packaging is a box (tadah!).  It's a light pinky/peachy colour with floral design and will be perfect for storing things prettily in my cupboard.

And here's what I got in my box:

1. Nude by Nature 5 in 1 BB Cream.
I was quite excited by this as it's a full size product with a value of $19.95.  I also got in a shade for light tones which is perfect for me as I'm a whitey! BUT... I swatched it on my skin and its SO white. On first thoughts it appears to have too much zinc in it.  I'm going to wait till I've tried it on a full face before I give my final verdict although overall I am happy as I've heard lots of stories of other girls getting the incorrect shades for their skintone.

2. Lush Cosmetics Emotional Brillance Makeup (RRP $24.95)
This was another full sized makeup product that I was excited about.  Unfortunately when I opened my one the applicator wand was broken.  It's a deep purpley colour that I first thought was an eyeshadow as it's quite powdery but after looking on the lush website it's actually a lip product.  I have contacted Lusthaveit to let them know it's broken and ask for a replacement.  Will wait and see what they have to say.  There was also a card in the box that you can take to Lush to receive a colour reading and a sample make-up remover which I may or may not use as there is only one Lush store that I know of in Adelaide and it's a bit of a hike for me to get there.

3.  Lust have it Kabuki Brush (RRP $19.95)
This brush feels amazing.  It's a synthetic brush that can be used wet or dry to apply base, bronzer or blush.  I use one of these brushes every day and it's getting old now so I'm excited to try this and see if it's as good or even better than the one I currently use.

4.  Ella Bache 50+ Sportsbloc Active
This is a sample size (20ml) of an SPF50+ sunblock.  Sunblocks with an SPF higher than 30 are a new thing to Australia but something we always had back in NZ.  I'll probably keep this in my car for an emergency but I can't see myself using it more than once as it's in a sachet not a bottle which get's messy.

5.  Klorane Shampoo & Conditioner
These were sample sized products and I'm interested to try them out.  I'm a fan of the Klorane dry shampoo so will see if these live up to the same quality.  They're formulated for dry summer hair and God knows I've got that ha!

Even though there were a couple of things to whinge about in this months box overall I'm really happy.  Lust Have It have really picked up their game from late last year when the boxes were a little on the dismal side.  The value of this months pack comes in at over $70 and for only $15 a month you won't catch me complaining.

Happy Hump Day everyone :)

Hello Pretties,

Hope you all had a lovely long weekend.  I thought I'd share with you a handy little website I found recently.

Findation.com is a website that helps you find your perfect foundation match in different brands.  All you need to do is enter the brand and colour match of the foundation you currently use or have used before and it will provide you with your colour match.  It's as easy as that!

This is fantastic for people who can't easily access all these products in-store to get colour matched and also brilliant for online shopping.  I can't promise it's fool proof but I've done a few tests using a few different foundations I've used and it's worked perfectly.  You can enter a few different foundations to get more accurate results.

Findation has been set-up by Australian Kate Morris who is the lady behind beauty shopping site Adore Beauty, another reason to check out the website and support our fellow Australians.

Happy foundation matching :)

I made my very first purchase from Lipstick Republic this week and boy was I impressed.  I ordered on Sunday night and my parcel arrived Tuesday morning, which is the fastest I think I've ever received anything.

Lipstick Republic are an Australian company that stock some overseas brands that are hard to get here such as Limecrime, OCC and e.l.f.  I wanted to try out a couple of e.l.f products and have also had my eye on the Limecrime Eyeshadow helper for  some time.

My products arrived all wrapped up in black tissue with a pink ribbon around it which I thought was super cute and a nice change from things just been dumped into a box with bubble wrap.  I ordered the e.l.f High Definition Powder ($RRP11.99), e.l.f Complete Coverage Concealer Set (RRP$5.99) and the Limecrime Eyeshadow Helper (RRP$21).  I also received an e.l.f eyeshadow quad for free. Yay for free things! Shipping was very reasonable at $6.60 and I applied the code "RepublicVIBs" at checkout to receive a 10% discount on my order.

I can't wait to try out my new products.  I'll be reviewing the Limecrime Eyeshadow Helper in the very near future but feel free to let me know if you'd like a review or swatches on any of the other products.

xx

So I was reading one of my favourite beauty blog's the other day and the words Chemist Warehouse and Sale were mentioned (read it here).  Needless to say out came Google Maps (I'm still learning my way around Adelaide) and I was off.  I bought a lot of things I wanted and nothing I really needed but that seems to be becoming a habit with me.  The exciting thing was I SAVED  a lot of money :)  Revlon, Maybelline and Rimmel were all half price but because the sale has been on for quite awhile already (how did I not know) there was not a lot of stock left.

Here's what I got:

2x Maybelline Baby Lips Color Lipbalm in Berry Crush & Pink Lolita
SPF15 Lipbalms with just a hint of colour.  Love love love

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream 8in1 in Fair

3x Maybelline Color Tattoo pots in Tough as Taupe, Audacious Asphalt and Too Cool.  I plan to use these as eyeshadow bases as I've heard they have really good staying power and don't crease.

Full n Soft Mascara in Black.  This is my holy grail mascara; I've tried so many others that are way more expensive but I just keep coming back to this.
Volum'Express Mascara the Falsies Flared.

Rimmell Wake me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch
2x Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters  in Strawberry Shortcake and Peach Parfait.  I've read so much about these I just had to try them for myself.

Let me know if you'd like a review or swatches of any particular product I got.  I believe the sale finishes on the 26th of January so if you have a Chemist Warehouse near you I highly recommend you head down and check it out.  As for me I will now be hiding my purse away in a dark dark place

Happy Shopping xx

It was a very lovely Monday morning when the postman arrived with the first bellabox for the year.  In keeping with the upcoming Australia Day celebrations the theme for this month is of course Australia.

Here’s what I got in my bellabox this month.

You Me & Everybody Cool It Aloe Vera Gel – Full size 100ml RRP $8.95
I have this product currently slathered all over me as I went for a hike this afternoon and totally forgot to wear sunblock.  This could only spell disaster for my pasty white skin.  I’ve got this in the fridge for an extra-cool dose of relief.

Jurlique Replenishing Cleansing Lotion 30ml & Purely Age-Defying Ultra Firm & Lift Cream 5ml
I haven’t tried Jurlique products before so am interested to try these and are a decent enough size to get a few day's use out of them.

Natio Pure Mineral Skin Perfecting BB Cream – Sachet
Unfortunately the sample I got was in shade medium which I’m almost positive will be too dark for me.  I’m still going to give it a try though just to see how the consistency is like.  BB Creams are my favourite thing right now so I love trying new ones.

Face of Australia Massage Therapy Lipshine – Shade: Bondi, Full size
I love tinted lipbalms and this one is no exception.  It feels so soft on my lips and just gives a hint of colour and shine and smells edible.  It has raised bumps on the applicator which apparently massage your lips. Meh, I’m not sure about that but on a whole I love it.

I’m pretty impressed with this months Bellabox and am impressed that all the products are made in Australia, I think it’s important to buy local products when possible.  At 14.95 there is no doubt that it’s value for money, especially as the two full size products come to $20 on their own. I’ll definitely be using everything in this months box.  To sign up to receive your own bellabox each month click here.

Hope you're all having a lovely Monday

Eyebrows frame your face and finding the perfect product for my brows has been an on-going situation for a couple of years now.  I've tried pencils, eyeshadows and waxes and whilst they all work to some degree they haven't given me the natural look I've been searching for.  Back in my school days I picked and plucked at my eyebrows until they were pencil-thin.  I'm trying to convince myself it was the fashion back then.... haha  The problem is now I"m suffering the consequences of that with sparse uneven eyebrows.

Big dramatic entrance for Benefit Brow Zings.  This is a recent buy of mine and is now my Holy Grail product for eyebrows.  The wax defines my eyebrows and the powder sets the wax and fills in any/all gaps.  I'm left with perfectly defined eyebrows that match my colouring perfectly and only takes me about 30seconds.  It comes in three shades; light medium and dark.  I have fair skin but dark hair so use the medium shade.

The kit contains the following:
pigmented wax for shaping
natural-shaded powder for setting
discreet tweezers
hard angle brush
blending brush
mirror

Instructions can be found on the benefit website and also on pdf here

I purchased this from my local Benefit counter at Myer but for those of you who don't have one close by you can buy from their online store in America which has an international shipping option but beware their products are amazing and you may not be able to stop at just one ;)

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend

Last week I ordered a few products from MUA in the UK after reading really good reviews about them on other blogs and they arrived today in the post!

Here's what I got:

BB Cream 30ml - All in one Beauty Balm
Light - Shade 1
Promises to prime, smooth and conceal.
I've only tried this one this morning but I found it to be a thicker consistency than the Garnier BB Cream and has more of a matte finish.  It gave me great coverage but is a little on the dry side for my dry skin so tomorrow I may try mixing in some of my Napoleon Auto-Pilot Primer. After wearing it all day it does seem to just be sitting on my skin instead of melting in so I'll definitely be trying it again tomorrow with moisturizer and primer which I'm hoping will fix it as the coverage and colour is perfect.

Eyedusts 1.5g - Shade 1 and 3
These eyedusts are awesome.  Shade 1 is a sparkly (not glittery) silver shade and Shade 3 is a mint green.  After swatching these this morning and wearing Shade 3 today I would go so far as to say they are better than my Napoleon Loose Dusts.  The green is very pigmented and hasn't creased all day.  The only downside is that there are only 5 shades to choose from but I'll be buying the other 3 shades in my next order.

Lipbalms 10g in Sweet Kiss and Sugar Lips
These. Lipbalms. Are. Amazing!  They taste good, smell good, and last on my lips for ages!

Professional Eye Primer 7.5ml
This product promises to prevent eyeshadows from creasing and also make them last longer.  This is my first time using an eyeshadow primer and whilst I'm not sold on how necessary it is it has seemed to do the job.  No creases and my eye makeup is just how it was when I put it on this morning.

The Artiste Collection Pallette - I actually received this one free with my order which was a special they had on at the time. I've had a little play and the colours seem pigmented and of good quality.  I may do a more in-depth review later once I've formed more of an opinion.

All-together with shipping it came to about £20 which converted to about $32AUD which is totally a bargain.  I'm extremely happy with my haul!!

If you want to buy MUA or have a look at all their products go here http://www.muastore.co.uk/index.php/ and also like them on facebook https://www.facebook.com/MUAmakeupacademy because once they receive 50,000 likes they're having a big sale and hey we all love a good sale :)

Hey guys,

I've been meaning to start a blog for awhile and now I've finally done the deed.  I will be blogging mainly on beauty but I may throw a curve-ball now and again.

Keep checking back for reviews, makeup hauls and all things pretty.

Feel free to ask any questions along the way.
