Hair, Styling, Curly hair, waves, styling product,
ICON India Curl Cream

I've previously used and reviewed some other products in this range and really enjoyed them so was really happy to receive this curl defining cream to review.  My hair is naturally fine and wavy and now that it's a bit shorter I've mainly been straightening my hair.  This seemed like a good chance to give my hair a break from the heat and embrace the curl again.
The ICON India Curl Cream* uses Moringa Oil, Argan Oil & Pathenol to strengthen, revitalise and assist with manageability so you're nourishing your hair at the same time as styling.  Double Win!

What they say....
INDIA Curl Cream includes Quinoa, a hydrolyzed protein, whose amino acids heals and restructures any damage to the hair shaft while working to prevent future damage caused by brushing or blow-drying. By adding a protective barrier, it helps hair to attract moisture, enhancing condition, making it easier to design a well-defined, plush curl or specific wave pattern. Panthenol (Vitamin B5) makes hair more pliable and adds shine in concert with Sunflower Seed Extract which neutralizes free radicals and protects. The result is hair that is exotic, rich and remarkable. A blend of anti-aging antioxidants and vegan vitamins restores hair while adding textured, uniform style

I apply about a 20 cent piece worth of cream into the palm of my hands, rub together and then scrunch it through the ends of my hair.  The effect on my hair is tousled waves - as if I've spent a day in the ocean but without being weighed down with all that salt and residue.  This cream does provide some hold and definition but not so much that your hair is left crunchy.  As with the rest of this range, this product is scented with Amber which if your sensitive to scents could be a bit too much.  For me I like it and every so often throughout the day I'll still be able to smell it.

This is a lovely curl defining cream that I'm loving using.  It has a lovely spicy scent, defines my waves without weighing them down leaving my hair healthy and with added volume and bounce!

The ICON India Curl Cream retails at $39.95 and can be purchased at selected salons as well as

My new walking/running track in Newcastle

I downloaded and started the Couch to 5K app this week.  I'm really sore after just 2 goes at it and I really can't imagine how I'm going to be able to run for 5kms at the end of the 8 week program but I'm going to give it a red hot go.  It does help that my new walking/running track is right next to the ocean :)

I've had a really awesome week hanging out with my Dad and even though he's sick he was still the one who helped me change my flat tyre.  Legend!

Speaking of the flat tyre - isn't that just so typical that these things happen right when you become unemployed.

Urban Rituelle are having a 50% off sale on their Beachcomber range which just happens to include my favourite scent of Coconut & Honey.  Have already placed my order to restock and can't wait for it to arrive.  Check it out, their stuff is amazing!

My Mum, sister and I went out for dinner on Wednesday night and it was so nice to get together and have some chats and laughs.  Sometimes I just feel so absurdly lucky to have such an awesome family!

Happy Friday!

hair, treatment, quick-dry, heat protectant, indola
Indola Wonder Blow-Dry

A few weeks back I was asked to trial a new multi-tasking hair product designed to speed up blow-dry time.  I hate sitting under a blow-dryer waiting for my hair to dry (especially in warmer weather) so naturally I jumped at the chance.

Indola Wonder Blow-Dry* actually does far more than just speed up blow-dry time.  Indola boasts the following 10 benefits from this one product:

Instantly faster blow-drying / Smoothes & de-tangles / Vital heat protection
Maintains essential moisture / Boosts body & bounce / Intensifies shine / Banishes frizz
Lighter hold / No residues / Results that last
This is the kind of hair product that I absolutely love; one product that does everything I need.  After using this product for the last few weeks I've absolutely fallen in love.  A few sprays of this on freshly washed hair, comb it through and then set the drier on it.  Dry time is definitely a lot quicker but I'm also impressed with the volume I get from it and of course the heat protection.  I have quite fine hair so dislike products that leave any build-up or heavy feeling on my hair and I'm happy to report that this is definitely light-weight with no residues.  Overall this is definitely a product I'll repurchase as it works fabulously in my hair and does everything it says it does!

Indola Wonder Blow Dry retails at $19.95 and is available at selected salons or

I've been a very slack blogger this year so far but I have a very good reason. This week I made the big 17 hour drive from Adelaide to my new home in Newcastle, NSW.  Some of you know that my Dad is very sick and I made the decision to move 'home' so I could spend some time with Dad and offer support to my family as well.  I'm not working here just yet as we have a holiday to Phuket coming up so I'll wait till after that to look for work.

I've had an amazing first week at home hanging out with Dad and finally relaxing after a stressful last month at my job in Adelaide!  I've started getting up early and walking again in the mornings and the picture above is Dad and I enjoying a swim at The Bogey Hole.  Sometimes you just can't beat an ocean swim and the joy on my Dad's face at being in the water was just priceless!  It was definitely refreshing (read: chilly) ha.

You can expect to see more regular posts from me in the not too distant future as I start to unpack and settle in to my new life in Newcastle.  Meanwhile I've got a hot date with my sister and a bottle of wine tonight and I can't even remember the last time that happened so I'm very much looking forward to it!

Hope you're having a fab Friday and have an even better weekend

The times between posts seem to get longer and longer these days and the blog has been sorely neglected.  I'll have an update up soon but for today I'll be showing you what's in this months Bellabox.

5 items this month with a bonus sachet, one full size and the rest samples.
Unfortunately nothing too exciting!

New Packaging - Bellabox March 2014

Beauty Subscription Service, Pantene, Bellabox, Makeup, Modelco
Bellabox March 2014

Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo & Conditioner
2x 40ml samples
Have received these before and enjoyed using them so I'll keep them for my next travels.

Milk Body Scrub
10ml sample
Have seen this brand around but never tried it so I'm happy to receive this product.  I doubt I'll be able to scrub my whole body though with only a 10ml sample so might just trial it on my legs.

St Tropez Gradual Tan Anti-Aging Face
5ml sample
This is the product I was most excited to see.  I love St Tropez tanning products so I'm interested to see how this face one performs.  It's a gradual tan so should be quite light on first application (fingers crossed)

Makeup, beauty box, lipstick, cosmetics, nude,
Modelco Party Proof Lipstick - 'Get Naked'

Modelco Party Proof Lipstick in Get Naked
Full size
So over Modelco products arriving in these boxes but it's been said a million times before and no one seems to listen so I don't know why I bother saying it everytime.  This is a nude shade but not the kind of nude shade I could get away with wearing.  It's just a very light brown colour - looks very blah on me!

Romy Bath & Shower Gel
30ml sample
Another repeat product unfortunately and from past experience they just remind me of shitty hotel samples.

Natralus Paw Paw Pure Gel
bonus sachet
Tiny sachet that already feels empty - I'll keep this on hand for next time I get too much sun

Overall not a very exciting box - I'll probably use everything in it except for the lipstick but without the lipstick the value of the box is really very low for me personally.  I do still enjoy receiving the Bellabox and getting a surprise every month even though on occasions like this month the value isn't high to me personally.  I guess that's the risk you take :)

If you're interested in signing up or hearing more about Bellabox head to their website  Boxes cost $15 a month

What did you think of this month's Bellabox?
