Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette

I'm not gonna bother doing a full review of this palette.  There's a million websites with swatches of the colours and a full descriptive breakdown.  The temptalia review is a good start if that's what you're after.

What I will tell you is that I have finally found a palette where I can use every shade.  Urban Decay's Naked Basics 2 Palette is made up of 6 Matte shades that are all cool toned and cased in a hard neutral compact with a full mirror.  Every shade is pigmented, soft and perfectly blendable.  I think this palette is perfect for people with fair skin like myself that often find the mid range shades of palettes to be too dark for all-over eyeshadows.  The shades of these colours give me just enough depth without looking like I'm out for a night of debauchery or just been hit in the face.

Unfortunately Urban Decay seem determined to be the last brand available for purchase in Australia so I purchased this from Sephora USA (see haul here) where it retails for $29USD.  Otherwise you can purchase from Beauty Bay and have it delivered to Australia for just over $45AUD.

Mascara is the one thing I just can't go without.  Even if I'm having a no makeup day I'll quickly brush a couple of coats of mascara on to help open up and frame my eyes.

My eyelashes are already quite long and have a natural curve so I've never needed an eyelash curler or mascaras that focus on curl.  However because of my natural curl, mascaras have the tendency to transfer onto the skin under my eyebrows, first world problems I know.  When I'm looking for a mascara I want something that's really black, gives volume and stay's put.  In no particular order these are my favourite mascaras.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes
This is a recent find and it was love at first application.  I can't put my finger on exactly what it does that's so amazing but it makes my lashes look almost artificial.  So. Much. Volume.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme
I got this a while ago with a Crush Cosmetics order because I'd heard another blogger rave about it.  It's pretty cheap at about $12 and definitely a good dupe if you can't find the Tarte one or don't wanna fork out $30 for it.

Maybelline Full n Soft Mascara
This will be the easiest of the lot to find and was one of the first mascaras I ever bought when I was a teenager.  I like both the waterproof and normal version and always keep a back-up of this in my makeup drawer.  I find this mascara is best after it's been open for a couple of weeks and gives awesome volume without being too over the top.

What's your favourite mascara?
