High End Haul

On a recent trip to Sydney I decided to splurge on a few makeup products I'd been coveting for awhile.  My first stop was at Sephora where I picked up the Sephora Rouge in Rendez-vous with a matching liner in Pure Pinky.  I'm already totally in love with these two products and can't wait to pick up more shades next time I'm down.  I also picked up the Bite Beauty Lip Primer in the hope I could use it as an invisible lip liner.  The jury's still out on this one but I'll keep you posted.  If you've visited the Sephora Australia store you'll know you have to trek upstairs to pay for your products and the queue area is surrounded by little treats just begging to be picked up.  This is where the Tarte Bright by Night Travel Set fell into my basket.  I think picking up trial sized sets like this are a great way to try out a product when you don't know a lot about it and lucky for me this mini marajuca oil and eyecream are just divine.  More on that another time.

After Sephora I headed over to Myer which houses Kit Cosmetics, Mecca and various other beauty brands like MAC, Lancome, Benefit and Giorgio Armani.  I picked up the MAC Creme Cup lipstick as I'm pretty sure this is the shade I want to wear for my wedding and asked the consultant for a lip liner to match.  She gave me the shade Dervish but whilst it's a good match for everyday wear it does deepen the colour of Creme Cup a little too much for what I was after.  I then made an impulse buy at Kit Cosmetics and picked up the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Jelly Donut.

I pretty much love every single product I picked up although I probably could have lived without the Too Faced lipstick.  My motto this year is Quality over Quantity and I'm really trying to do my reasearch and making informed decisions about my purchases.  It's a work in progress ;)

  1. Great haul!! I''m with you on the quality over quantity this year. I'm in the middle of a clean out and while my stash is getting smaller, it's made me a lot happier.

    1. Me too Amy but I have no idea what to do with all the makeup that's opened and barely used. Any ideas?
