My Favourites for February 2017

My Favourites for February 2017

I love writing these posts each month as it gives me a chance to look over all my beauty products and do a little audit to see what I'm using and what I'm not.  I often take this time to change up my skincare in the bathroom, or find a makeup product I haven't used in a while and remind myself to use it the next month.

My top five favourites for February include a bit of everything.  I popped into my local Mecca store to pick up my Beauty Loop box and purchased the Mecca Cosmetica Lip De-Luscious Night Lip Treatment and even though I was pretty horrified at paying $32 for a lip balm I think I can safely say it was worth it.  It's supposed to be worn as an overnight treatment but I wear it during the day too if I'm not wearing lipstick.  The Mecca Cosmetica Lip De-Luscious Night Lip Treatment is so soft and creamy and leaves lips feeling so hydrated and plump.  It's a definite love.

The Aromatherapy Associates Instant Wellbeing Set is a repeat from my December Favourites but I just couldn't help it.  These little rollerballs of essential oils are just so divine.  Every night I apply the Deep Relax rollerball before sleep and I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but I've been sleeping so well ever since I started using these.

I picked up the Milani Cosmetics Luminoso Blush in a Beauty Bay haul late last year and it's such an amazing colour for Summer.  This blush is pigmented, buttery and applies so easily with any brush giving you a pop of colour and just a hint of shimmer.  The Milani Luminoso Blush really does live up to its hype and is fairly inexpensive so if you get the chance I do recommend picking this up.  I'm on the lookout for more shades.

I know Kylie Jenner can be a pretty controversial person and people either seem to love or hate her but I can't say I fit into either category.  I've never watched Keeping up with Kardashians so really any info I know about the Kardashian/Jenner clan is from Social Media or the News.  I didn't make a Kylie Cosmetics purchase because I love her, I purely wanted to try out the products and actually see for myself if they were any good.  I picked up the Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Collection Eyeshadow Palette among some other things and I have to say the quality is actually really good.  I've been really loving these shadows this month, especially as they're cool toned and I can make quite a few different looks with it.

And last but not least skincare wise I've dropped out my usual Rosehip Oil and replaced it with this Goodness Certified Organic Chia Seed Oil.  I love the way this oil sinks into my skin making it perfect to use in the mornings under makeup.  I usually just wait a good 15 minutes before applying my primer and foundation (see some of my foundation routine here) and there's no oily residue.

    1. That's a bummer - I've heard the lipkits can be hit or miss. I only have the Smile one and it's a hit. None of her other shades suit me so I guess I'll just stick to that one!
