The Parcel by Marie Claire - Autumn Edition 2017

Unboxing The Parcel, Marie Claire, Autumn 2017, Beauty Box

Another season is upon us meaning it's time for a new The Parcel by Marie Claire beauty box.  I've tried a lot of beauty subscription boxes and in my opinion this is one of the best in Australia.  Unfortunately this month's box is a bit of a let down for me but I'll show you what's inside and you can decide if you agree or disagree!

Unboxing The Parcel, Marie Claire, Autumn 2017, Beauty Box

There are three full sized items in the Autumn edition of The Parcel by Marie Claire.  The Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturiser sounds nice but honestly I never remember to put on body lotion so I'm not too excited about this.  The Biore Baking Soda Scrub is definitely the most exciting inclusion in the box as it is a powder formula that you mix with water to create an exfoliating scrub, definitely can't wait to try this out.  Burt's Bees is a lovely natural brand and they do make great lip products so this pink Lip Crayon is a welcome addition.  It is infused with Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil so it should be lovely and hydrating.

The remaining products in the box are sample size.  The John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner will be going straight to my sister as I have coloured red hair.  The Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Restoring Serum sounds interesting but I don't think a 5ml sample will give me too much of a idea of how good it will actually be.  Another box, another micellar water.  I don't like micellar waters at all, I never feel like my skin is clean afterwards and end up just washing with normal face wash and a face cloth anyways which defeats the purpose.  The Palmers Cocoa Butter Moisture Rich Night Cream sounds nice and I do love the chocolate infused scent of Palmers products so will give this a go.  My box was missing a Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner but I won't chase them up about it as I have dry skin and don't need any mattifying skin care.

All in all I found this box to be quite disappointing.  There were a few products in the box that were targeted to quite a specific niche like blonde hair or oily skin which I think to keep most people happy they should try not to do.  The main thing I'm excited about is the Biore scrub but that only retails for $10.99 so I could've saved my $25 this month and just gone and purchased that product.

Usually The Parcel by Marie Claire really impresses me and has great value so I won't let this one disappointing box ruin it for me just yet.  Fingers crossed the Winter edition is much better otherwise I'll be seriously considering unsubscribing.

What did you think of this month's box?

  1. I thought the box wasn't too bad but I agree with the niche products comment (though I have blonde hair so I'm okay with the hair care product). I didn't receive the same Elizabeth Arden product - I got Ceramide Capsules though my info card says the same product as you got.

    Hopefully winters is more exciting!

    1. I just checked my card and it says I got the ceramide capsules, so that's weird. Considering I was missing a product as well it seems like they may have had some packing problems this month.

      Thanks for your comment x
