A Winter Treat: Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oils

Winter is the worst season of the year for me.  While I do like cosy jumpers and being able to wear jeans every day I absolutely loathe being cold and I'm one of those people who seem to feel the cold worse than others.  Or maybe I just whinge louder, it's hard to say haha!  I survive this season of terrible doom mainly by staying indoors and drinking hot chocolate but also by finding any opportunity to treat myself.  And this year I'm treating myself to long warm showers with Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oils.

I've been a huge fan of Aromatherapy Associates for awhile now but to be honest they're quite pricey so for me they're definitely in the 'treat' zone rather than the 'everyday' zone.  I've been wanting to try the Bath & Shower Oils for the longest time but had never taken the plunge to buy them for myself, so when I was sent a couple of samples I was over the moon.

The Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oils can be used a couple of different ways.  The traditional way is to pour a capful into a nice warm bath and spend half an hour unwinding and relaxing.  Another way to use these oils, and my favourite way, especially when I'm in a hurry, is to apply some oil to your body before getting into the shower.  Once the warm water hits the oil on your skin it creates almost like a vaporiser effect in the shower and it smells absolutely amazing.  I love to use the Revive Morning one like this as it provides such a luxurious and energising start to the day.

Both the Deep Relax and Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oils are award winning products and have been such an amazing addition to my beauty routine.  I'm trying to make them last a long time so I've only been using them a couple of times a week and mostly in the shower as that uses less product than a capful in a bath.  The Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil includes Pink Grapefruit, Rosemary, Juniper Berry & Pine as it's key ingredients and it really does wake you up and refresh you for the day ahead.  The  Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil includes Vetivert, Sandalwood and Camomile which aims to comfort and relax you.  The few times I've used the Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil at night before bed, I've slept so much better, and as someone who struggles with sleep this is really saying something.

My Night Time Essentials: A good book, some lip balm and my Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Oil

These oils are very strong and you really only need to use a small amount.  Too much can be quite over-powering as they are very aromatic.  These sample bottles that I received hold 7.5mls and I'm estimating I'll get about 5-8 uses out of the Revive Morning oil as I use that in the shower and about 4-6 uses out of the Deep Relax as I've used that in the bath a couple of times.  While they can be expensive to purchase they will last a long time and they are an absolute luxurious treat to spoil yourself with.

You can find out more about Aromatherapy Associates, and purchase their products on their website here. I have seen their products for sale in Sephora and on the Look Fantastic website but they're also stocked in various premium day spas around Australia.

Do you use essential oils?  I'd love to hear about your favourites?  Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I have been on a look out for cheap knockoff versions of aromatherapy since I can not afford the original one but reading this I have to save up a lot to indulge in this goodness.
