Rimmel Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation, Concealer & Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray

Rimmel Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation, Concealer & Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray

The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation & concealer have been around for a number of years but were recently reformulated.  This foundation gets pretty good reviews in the beauty community for a good coverage drugstore base product so I was interested to see what the new formula was like.  It's been a long time since I tried the original Wake Me Up foundation so this won't be a comparison post.  Rimmel have also released a 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray called #Insta Fix & Go so I'll let you know my thoughts on that too.

The new anti-fatigue formulation of the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation sees the inclusion of Vitamin C to 'reawaken the skin' as well as an SPF20 to protect your skin from the harsh sun.  Both the foundation and concealer also have what's called 'radiance pearls' which help give a luminous glow to the skin.  I find the foundation to be quite creamy and it blends easily into the skin.  It has a light to medium coverage but can be layered to a nice medium finish.  I always set with powder and I definitely wouldn't be skipping it with this foundation.  Because it's so creamy I don't find that it dries down properly so a good setting of powder fixes that.  The concealer also has a light to medium coverage.  I use it under my eyes mostly as I don't get a lot of blemishes.  It's not my favourite under eye concealer just because it doesn't give me the coverage I need for my dark circles but if dark circles isn't a problem this concealer might be fine for you.  I find both the foundation and concealer start wearing off around the 6 hour mark and I have dry skin so if you have an oily skin type this may not be the best choice for you if you're after something long lasting.  The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation retails for $19.95 and the Wake Me Up Concealer retails for $14.95.  Both are available at most pharmacies as well as some supermarkets.

The #Insta Fix & Go 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray was a surprising one for me.  I'm not a huge fan of setting sprays as I haven't really found one that does anything to improve my makeup and so don't bother using them.  This one claims it can be used as a primer so I tried that out and it actually worked.  I sprayed this on my cleansed and moisturised face, left it for a minute or so to soak in and then went in with my foundation like normal. I've tried this under quite a few of my foundations and really like it.  It feels really hydrating and helps my base products apply really nicely.  As a setting spray I find the spray to just be a little bit too direct.  I prefer a light spray all over the face but this can be achieved by just spraying a couple of times from further back to get an even coverage.  As I said I'm not a huge fan of setting sprays so I mainly just use this as a primer and I'm really enjoying it.  The Insta Fix & Go retails for $13.95 and is available at most pharmacies as well as some supermarkets.

Are you a fan of setting sprays?  Have you ever tried a setting spray as a primer?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below or come chat with me on Instagram.

*These three products were sent to me for my consideration but this has not affected my view in anyway.  I believe in honestly always.

  1. Great, detailed review. I have oily/combo skin so this wouldn't work for me. Setting sprays...I just can't get one that seems to show me a difference in terms of how long my makeup lasts! 🙄 I've got an Urban Decay one at the moment but tbh I've stopped using it 😏 Maybe my skin just doesn't like them! Lol xx
