The Parcel by Marie Claire - Winter Edition 2017 (and last one ever)

The Parcel by Marie Claire - Winter Edition 2017

A month or so ago I received an email from The Parcel saying that the Winter Edition would be the last edition of The Parcel that we would be receiving.  It didn't give any reason as to why they would no longer be offering their service just that they were proud of the twenty sampling boxes they had sent out over the last three years.  The Parcel has consistently been a great beauty subscription box so I'm a little sad to see them go.  I did think that this last box might be kinda shit since it was their last one but I'm pleasantly surprised at the number of products they've included.  They definitely didn't skimp out for their last edition.

The Parcel by Marie Claire - Winter Edition 2017

The Parcel Winter Edition contains 9 products and two sample sachets.  I really love seeing makeup products in these but unfortunately the only makeup product this time round is an Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Ravishing Rose.  I don't know about you but all I know about Avon is that they used to have ladies distributing catalogues to your letterbox and then they would come back a week later and collect your order.  Do they still do that?  Surely not! There was also an Avon Matte Top Coat Nail Polish in the box which will be interesting to try.

There are a couple of haircare products this month.  First up is the Revlon Uniq One Hair Treatment which apparently offers 10 benefits in one product and is a spray-in product.  I can't find any directions on the box but I'm assuming it's like a spray in treatment for once you've already washed your hair.  The other hair product is the Klorane Mango Butter Shampoo which sounds like it'll smell divine and there's a QV Hand Cream which I'll be giving away because I absolutely hate hand cream.

Skincare wise, there's the Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Eye Cream as well as trial size samples of La Roche-Posay Redermic C10 and The Jojoba Company Australian Jojoba Oil both of which I'm excited to use.  I've received a trial size of the Philosophy Purity Make Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face and Eyes before and it's pretty meh.  I'll probably still use it again - it's a great size for travelling with.  The two sachet samples were a Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Facial Mask which I'll definitely be trying and Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Volume Filling Pearls which sounds... weird.

The Parcel by Marie Claire - Winter Edition 2017
Overall I thought it was another great box.  It's jam-packed with a variety of both full size and trial size products.  I'm probably most looking forward to using the Jojoba Oil (adore this stuff) and trying out the La Roche Posay Redermic.  As I said earlier I'm sad to see The Parcel by Marie Claire go but unlike other subscription services that have gone before them, I think The Parcel can hold their head high that they did a consistently great job.

Now that I won't be receiving The Parcel anymore do you have any suggestions for a great beauty subscription service I can sign up to?  Let me know in the comments below or come chat with me on Instagram.

  1. Such a shame they're stopping it and you were enjoying it! I haven't found another subscription box since I cancelled my birchbox a couple of years ago 🙄 If you find one I'd love to know!! X

  2. I read your review and was hoping that you would give a suggestion at the end for another subscription box as I'm feeling a bit lost now that the parcel has been discontinued! I really enjoyed the products that they sent! Thanks for the review :)

  3. I enjoy Maslow and co as well as the Parcel. Maslow has pretty high quality products but is a bit more expensive, you get to try some different overseas products. I'm trying the Vegan Beauty Box at the moment which is another bimonthly until I see what happens with the Parcel.

Feel free to comment or ask any questions. I would love to hear from you x
